Support for Unaffiliated Teacher Candidates

 

Although some teacher candidates were able to complete edTPA in a VLE this past academic year, we recognize many teacher candidates were not able to do so and were provided a waiver to complete edTPA in the upcoming academic year. Many of whom either completed their educator preparation programs or are not affiliated with an educator preparation program, but nevertheless will be completing edTPA in their induction year(s) of teaching. We also recognize as teacher candidates begin to plan their edTPA learning segments, they may experience adjustments in schedules, learning environments, etc. due to safety precautions. As such, SCALE and Evaluation Systems are prepared to offer the following supports:

 

Webinar Series: Support for Unaffiliated Candidates – A Guide to Completing edTPA 

Due to school closures in Spring 2020, many teacher candidates were not able to complete edTPA in their clinical placement/internship and were offered a waiver to complete edTPA in the 2020-21 academic year. Other candidates are affiliated with an EPP that may not use edTPA. To support these groups of teacher candidates, SCALE and Evaluation Systems are offering this webinar series. In each of these 60-minutes webinars within the webinar series, teacher candidates will receive guidance from how to get started to how to complete edTPA. Candidates must be registered for edTPA to access the assessment materials (i.e., edTPA Handbook, templates, URLP, Academic Language handout) used to complete edTPA and will be reviewed during these webinars. Registration can be completed at edTPA.com.

The dates, topics, times, and registration information are listed below. Upon registering for the webinar series, candidates will receive information for how to join the webinar series. NOTE: The topics in the webinar series will be offered one week a month at two different times each day. Candidates should identify the week in which to join the webinar series that corresponds to when they will begin working on their edTPA portfolio.
