EC-6 Generalist
For students seeking a Texas teacher certification in elementary school classrooms. Students spend most of their time in early childhood and elementary classes.
Grades 4-8 Language Arts/Social Studies
A field-based program for students seeking certification with a specialization in language arts/social studies.
Grades 4-8 Math/Science
A field-based program or students seeking certification in middle grades with a specialization in math/science.
Special Education
Provides students the opportunity to graduate with certifications in EC-12 special education, EC-6 general education and ESL.
Physical Education
For students wishing to teach physical education in public or private schools. Students can teach grades Preschool – 12.
Bilingual Education
Prepares students to pursue a career in bilingual education, English as a Second Language, or dual language teaching.
School Health
Prepares students to plan, execute and examine health education. Graduates can teach health/wellness in public or private schools.
Professional Educator Certifications
School Counseling Certification
The masters program in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling prepares highly qualified individuals as school counselors.
Reading Specialist
Requires students contact an advisor at the time of admission into the master’s graduate program.
Principal Certification
Students must be fully admitted to the M.ED. in Educational Administration, Emphasis in PK-12 Educational Leadership program to acquire this certificate.
Superintendent Certification
Students must be admitted to the ED.D. in Educational Administration, Emphasis in PK-12 Educational Leadership program to acquire this certificate.
aggieTEACH Programs
The College of Education and Human Development, through the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC), offers three pathways for non-education majors to seek a secondary teacher certification through the aggieTEACH program to become a teacher candidate.
